Valerie Sarah's Mini Burger

Valerie Sarah's Mini-Burger is plump and juicy, with a dash of pizazz!

 

Ingredients:

 

For Burger:
1 pound extra-lean ground beef.
1 teaspoon minced sweet onion.
1 pinch turmeric.
Salt & Pepper to taste.

 

For Buns:
4 hamburger buns.
2 tablespoons butter.
1 teaspoon garlic powder.
1/4 teaspoon salt.

 

For Condiments:
Ketchup
Mustard
Pickles

Preparation:

For Burger:
Step 1: Mix beef, onion, turmeric and salt and pepper.
Step 2: Form into patties.
Step 3: Put on grill.
Step 4: Grill to medium.

 

For Buns:
Step 1: Mix butter, garlic, and salt.
Step 2: Spread on buns.
Step 3: Grill lightly.

 

Plating:
Step 1: Plate burger on Bun.
Step 2: Bring condiments to table.
Step 3: Serve & enjoy!

Apple Orchard's Summer Salad

Apple Orchard's Summer Salad is an easy and refreshing addition to lunch and dinner!

 

Ingredients:
1 head of romaine lettuce
1/2 cup sliced cherry tomatoes
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup greek olives
1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
1/4 cup Red Wine Vinegar
3/4 cup Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper

For Salad:
Step 1: Wash romain lettuce and separate leaves into a bowl.
Step 2: Add sliced cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, olives, and toss together.
Step 3: When tossed add blue cheese to top.
Step 4: Set aside.

For Dressing:
Step 1: Mix vinegar and oil together in a cup or bowl.
Step 2: Add salt and pepper to taste.

 

Plating:
Step 1: Plate salad portions into individual bowls.
Step 2: Pour dressing into serving cup.
Step 3: Serve & Enjoy!

Team Mission Park's Sugo All'Arrabbiata

This classic Italian red-sauce, “sugo all’arrabbiata” is one of Chris Ember’s favorites!  As seen in Mission Park Street Stories:  Episode 1 – Chapter 5.   

 

Ingredients:

1½ cups chopped tomatoes

8oz tomato Puree

medium shrimp (10-15)

olive oil

1/3 cup white wine

1 cup chicken broth

3 cloves chopped garlic

1 small chopped shallot

fresh basil leaves

chopped parsley

salt

red chili flakes

 

Step 1:  Coat a large pan with olive oil, and heat on stove.

Step 2:  When hot, add shrimp to pan. (They will pop!)

Step 3:  While cooking, season with salt and red chili flakes.
Step 4:  As shrimp turn pink, flip.

Step 5:  When cooked, remove shrimp from pan and set aside.

Step 6:  Add chopped garlic and shallot to pan, letting them brown in olive oil.

Step 7:  Add chopped tomatoes to pan.

Step 8:  Add white wine to pan.

Step 9:  Add tomato puree to pan.

Step 10:  Add chicken broth to pan.

Step 11:  When sauce it hot, add fresh basil leaves to pan.

Step 12:  Add chopped parsley, and mix.

Step 13:  Add shrimp back to pan.

Step 14:  Let sauce heat to desired temperature and serve over pasta.

Step 15:  Finish with parmesan cheese.

Victor Strength's Post Workout Shake

After pumping iron in the gym, Victor Strength enjoys this healthy vanilla protein shake.

 

Ingredients:

2 heaping scoops of protein powder (any brand) Note: Most protein powders come with a scoop and suggested serving sizes.
8-10 Ice Cubes
1 Cup of Vanilla Almond Milk

 

Step 1: In a mixer, combine protein powder, ice cubes and Almond Milk
Step 2: Blend!
Step 3: Pour into a tall glass.
Step 4: Enjoy!

Valerie Sarah's Out of This World Pasta

Valerie Sarah's out of this world pasta is to die for! At least… That's what she says!

 

Ingredients:
1 box of pasta (corkscrew)
1/2 pound ground beef
1 Red Bell Pepper
1 Green Bell Pepper
Olive Oil
Garlic Powder
Crushed Red Pepper
Salt

 

Step 1: Boil water, cook pasta, drain, and set to side.
Step 2: Slice Red and Green bell peppers and set to side.
Step 3: Cook ground beef in a pan, mixing with a fork.
Step 4: When beef is thoroughly cooked, add pasta and mix with olive oil.
Step 4: Add Sliced Pepper and continue to mix.
Step 5: Season with red pepper, garlic powder, and salt to taste

Monica Tello's Healthy Summer Soda

Want the thrill of cold soda without all the sugar or artificial sweetners?  Monica Tello has the answer with this great and easy recipie for a hot summer day!

 

Ingredients:

1 16 oz bottle of carbonated lime water

1 tablespoon of 100% lime juice

1 tablespoon of guava nector

1 cup of crushed ice

Sliced lime wedges optional

 

Step 1:  combine all ingredients in a tall glass.

Step 2:  Fill the remainder of the glass with ice.

Step 3:  Enjoy!
